‘Develop a more holistic social media strategy’
‘Our successful standalone social network may become a 'walled garden' - for members and students only, with public engagement happening on FB, Twitter etc. CRM to be more fully integrated so that content can be tailored to users based on where they are in their membership journey with us.’
‘To further integrate our current platforms with any new developments and make sure that information is accessible and editable for all users’

This subject will be covered in some detail at MemCom 2012:
THE FUTURE OF MOBILE AND INTERACTIVE
Presentations
1. Mobile Strategy – how to create one; do you need one?
2. What an integrated on-line strategy should look like - includes social media, e memberships and generally bringing technology into the membership model.
These topics arose from discussion with the Agenda Planning Group from the MemCom marketing directors group and will provide for table and conference wide debate sharing views on:
• Recognition that even larger professional bodies are at the early stages of considering a mobile strategy
• Getting the balance in marketing and communications right – traditional versus new/interactive.
• Why you shouldn’t just do it because it’s fashionable and on the other hand persuading councils and boards that you have to keep pace with members/potential members’ changing patterns of information access and service requirements.
• When and if to introduce Apps – what to expect from them
• International and UK e memberships. Getting the balance right without jeopardising traditional membership fee levels. Lower cost of servicing e-membership. How do you sell e membership
• E assessment for qualifications – reducing the workload versus managing the process effectively
