MEMBER RETENTION A quarter of professional bodies lose over 10% of members each year

13-Dec-2011

A MemCom 2011 attrition survey suggest that many professional bodies lose one in every ten members each year through resignation, retirement or lapsing for other reasons. This figure is following standard renewal processes and before sometimes quite effective winback campaigns.

Clearly member attrition is a difficult area and with the often high costs of member recruitment it pays to hang on to those closest to you. Many professional bodies are managing to maintain or grow net membership levels but some are having to work hard on recruitment in the UK and overseas to achieve this net growth.

Which are the most vulnerable member groups? What win back strategies are being employed? Is attrition worse now compared with a few years ago? For answers to these and other key questions please book for MemCom 2012.
