The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With over 40,000 members worldwide the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.
A Marketing and Events Coordinator is required to deliver a major events and CPD programme that ensures that members and the public in the RIBA South region continue to develop their skills and interests within the built environment and to deliver great architecture.
Your remit will include supporting an annual CPD programme, liaising and supporting the Regional Director on the strategy, preparation and implementation of the RIBA South programme of events and effectively marketing and promoting the events and CPD programme. There will also be the opportunity to promote the region's activities by giving talks to practices and other organisations, as well as target potential members through preparation of presentations for showcasing the work of the RIBA.
This is a key role that has the potential to generate substantial income to support the RIBA's work. Previous experience of CPD and managing events, as well as delivering successful projects and dealing with a range of people – from clients to designers and printers would be ideal. Managing budgets, using your impressive organisational skills and prioritising a busy workload are all pre-requisites, along with excellent command of written English, strong attention to detail and the ability to work outside normal office hours when required. If you have previous experience of working for a membership organisation, perhaps with an interest in architecture or the built environment, so much the better.
